I am so excited to share with you all some photos from our recent trip to Portland!
99% of the times Jeff and I go away we take all our camera gear. As bloggers and photographers we naturally want to have the best cameras to capture wherever we are going so that we can share it online. We have the packing and prepping down to a science. However on this particular weekend trip, we opted to go "camera less". We figured if we wanted to take a snap we could use our trusty iPhones and perhaps just worry a bit less about taking photos and a little more about visiting with our family and friends.
*Note, I do believe that blogging and vlogging allows me to be even more present with people. It is nice though to not spend as much time aligning lenses and more time gabbing and eating.
Here are some of our favorite snaps from the weekend!
Our first stop was to an incredible urban green house my Mother in Law spotted in Slabtown called Versailles Gardens. It was so fun to get lost in the topiaries and check out all the cute little succulents. They also have an awesome event space if you are looking for one in the area!
We grabbed lunch at my favorite restaurant in Portland before heading just outside the city to visit a few wineries! It was the best way to spend a sunny afternoon in Oregon. We had perfect weather and it was so fun to site see along the road, drink delicious wines and have fun with my in-laws.
A highlight from the trip was stopping alongside the road when we spotted the most adorable llama farm. My father in law gauged my excitement and offered to pull over to let me say hello to my new furry friends. I had never seen llamas up close and I definitely had a fan girl freak out.
I mean...HOW CUTE ARE THEY???
#SQUADGOALS for sure.
Our other highlight was the very reason we were in Portland to begin with - our friends Frank and Brianna's Wedding! It was one of the most honest, heart felt and deeply rich celebrations I have ever witnessed. The speeches, conversations and venue were all breathtaking and we could not be happier for them! I highly recommend the Oregon Gulf Club if you are hunting for the perfect wedding venue in Portland.
We had the most relaxing and wondrous weekend away. Stay tuned for a full review of our winery tour!
