Jeff and I pride ourselves on being locals at our neighborhood eateries and bars. However, our love of thai food had not yet brought us down the road to A La Carte Thai Bistro on Washington Blvd just west of Centinella Avenue. Jeff and I don’t often treat ourselves to LA’s upper-scale eateries. We usually prefer to eat local (Westside) and keep things budget friendly for the everyday Angeleno. Earlier this month, Jeff and I hosted a friend from Chicago and wanted to show him one of our classic LA weekends. Amidst shopping at the Promenade and drinks at Alibi Room, we snuck up to Hollywoodland for Improv comedy and Thai food. Jeff did some research and found Hoy-Ka Thai to be amongst the highest rated Thai restaurants in LA. We went for it.

Thai Tour #1: Thai Taste in Venice

My husband Jeff and I LOVE Thai food. Thai is our go-to food of choice anytime we have a date night or go out with friends. I fell in love with this far east food during my early days as a production assistant. I often went on dinner runs to the area Thai restaurants and have since developed an obsession with yellow curry, crab puffs and Thai iced coffee. This year, Jeff and I decided to expand and do a proper "Thai Tour" of LA. We of course had to start at our local spot House of Thai Taste on Venice Blvd in Venice.
