Recreate: Lake Arrowhead Weekend Year 2

Recreate: Lake Arrowhead Weekend Year 2

In late February our missional community small group (affectionately known as Tall House) went on our 2nd annual retreat up to mountains of Lake Arrowhead.

After almost doubling our group in size (praise God) we still managed to find an amazing Air BnB that comfortably housed all 15 of us. Because of our need for a larger house, we also managed to get one of the gorgeous properties right above the Lake. Our house featured 2 large back desks with panoramic Lake views, cathedral windows and an awesome finished basement with a pool table.

Dreams Come True At The MET

Dreams Come True At The MET

On Saturday afternoon we met up with one of Sarah and Casey's good friends for a day at the museum. We started out at coffee before exploring the MET Cloisters (more on that in my upcoming vlog!). I had no idea there was a whole museum dedicated to Medieval art and architecture in the most northern parts of Manhattan. I love spending time at museums and the Cloisters provided an opportunity to reflect and connect on the history of the church in particular.

Steps, SOHO and Ramen in Hell's Kitchen

Welcome to New York! Last summer I had the chance to spend a week with my best friends Sarah and Casey in beautiful NYC. The Secret of Rome & Our Europe Takeaways

His tourist company Italian Splendor works with both the private and corporate sectors to plan and provide amazing trips to Italy. His agency helped us book our train tickets all over Italy and booked our hotel in Rome.

Wading and Waiting in Venice

Wading and Waiting in Venice

We spent our morning in Venice getting lost in it's streets with the locals, visiting the Rialto Bridge and shops, and eventually making our way to Piazza San Marco. The Campanile is the bell tower of St. Mark's Basilica and a place where visitors can get a panoramic view of the city. We decided it would be our one chance to get a macro perspective on this amazingly complex city and so we waited in the long line of tourists for our turn to see the vista.

Musee d´Orsay and Chocolate at Angelina

Musee d´Orsay and Chocolate at Angelina

Our first full day in Paris happened to fall on the first Sunday of the month. This meant that a number of Paris' museums were free to the public. We set off early from our cozy little flat in the 15th arrondissement to surpass some of the crowds. After a quick stop at our favorite Bakery near Sevres - Lecourbe we arrived at the beautiful Musee d'Orsay on the River Seine.

Midsummer's Eve ~ A Retro Portland Wedding

Midsummer's Eve ~ A Retro Portland Wedding

I am obsessed with weddings. I cherish every minute of celebrating true love with music, champagne, and insane amounts of dancing. I love how happy people are and seeing the pure joy of marriage on people's faces. I love the gowns and the bow ties, the special desserts and twinkle lights. I love the rows of chairs and tables and all the hanging tulle. I have been fortunate enough to attend a lot of weddings recently and now I want to share those stories on my blog.
