Although 2017 was rough and felt like it went by in 5 seconds, (but seriously, anyone else??) Jeff and I are looking at 2018 with hopeful anticipation of a healthy, bright and connected new year. We are so grateful for all the blessings in our lives, especially in light of everything that happened globally this past year. I wanted to share a quick summary of my resolutions for 2018 and about a thousand photos from our annual Roaring Twenties New Years Bash!Read More
I hear all the time from friends, "I want to plan a small shower but have no idea how to do that!" or "I know her family is throwing her a party but I would love to do something small for her here too." I, too, have frequently been in the boat of planning a "small" shower to celebrate a friend. I recently helped throw what I am calling a "Mini Shower" for my friend Nicole as her larger and more formal shower was thrown by family and friends in her hometown in Michigan.Read More
One my dearest friends Michelle is expecting her first baby - a boy due this summer! We have known Michelle and her husband Pat for years and I was honored to host her baby shower alongside some of our closest friends earlier this season. The second I found out Michelle was expecting I bought the napkins and bunting.Read More

About every 3 months, my church here in LA - SOMA CULVER CITY - hosts a Ladies Day. It is our way of getting to know the women in our church but also a great chance to invite and mingle with friends and neighbors. When it was my Missional Community's turn to host we opted for a classic Fondue party at my friend Jess' house.Read More
I love to plan events and entertain and I am so excited to bring you the first post in my series City and Grace Hosts.
I was honored to be asked by my dear friend Lauren to plan and host her baby shower BBQ which was held at her home in LA. Lauren and her husband Sven wanted to keep the party family friendly and low key. We held the event in their beautiful backyard under the shade of their covered lanai and with plenty of delicious food and drinks.Read More
If you have followed me for a while, you have noticed that I often post memories from events that have passed a little while back. I hope that you still find them inspiring and enjoy seeing how my friends and I celebrate various milestones in sunny LA.
Today I am sharing with you a shower thrown for my dear friend Evie at the Getty Center Museum. It was such an amazing (and free) venue (minus parking per vehicle) to host a lawn picnic and celebrate the arrival of her second gorgeous boy.Read More
I am obsessed with weddings. I cherish every minute of celebrating true love with music, champagne, and insane amounts of dancing. I love how happy people are and seeing the pure joy of marriage on people's faces. I love the gowns and the bow ties, the special desserts and twinkle lights. I love the rows of chairs and tables and all the hanging tulle. I have been fortunate enough to attend a lot of weddings recently and now I want to share those stories on my blog.Read More
I am a part of a small church community here in LA called Soma Culver City. Our women's ministry has evolved a lot over the last couple years into a rhythm of quarterly events. Last year we began having our Missional Community small groups plan get togethers for all the women (and female friends) of our church body. The gears started moving and our leaders began to outline a series of day trips and parties to bring us all closer.Read More
There was definitely an array of pre-wedding celebrations this past spring. One of my favorites was a Gatsby themed shower thrown by my two maids of honor. I have always dreamt of a Roaring 20s themed wedding. This was the best way I could have had my wish. What is better than sunshine, sangria and excessive jewelry? Nothing.Read More
Since Jeff and I decided to get married in LA, my mom and her best friends really wanted to make sure I had a shower back in Ohio. They wanted our friends and family back east to feel like they were still a part of the celebration - I did too. It was important to Jeff and I that everyone in our life felt like they were valued in this season. We have had so much support the last couple of years, especially from the communities we grew up in.Read More
